A chronicle of exciting times and happy days at Dick and Mary MacKenzie's camp on Pelican Lake in Sioux Lookout, Ontario.
Macs Hideaway sits by itself in a bay within a bay, three miles from town by boat in summer and snowmobile in winter. Although close to home, we're secluded and seldom see another boat or snowmobile unless they are driven by friends coming to visit.
The property, purchased in 2010, is a five-acre parcel - the only privately owned land for several miles along the west shore of the lake. Building of the cabin, started in the summer of 2010, is a leisurely process (referred to, jokingly, as a 30 year project). We use the cabin extensively both summer and winter.
We'd like to share some pictures, a few stories, and thoughts about our life on the lake. As with the building of the cabin, this will probably be a long term project with updates and changes along the way.
